PORTLAND QUEER COMEDY FESTIVAL AIMS TO BRING THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST TALENT IN INTERNATIONAL LGBTQ STAND-UP COMEDY TO A BEAUTIFUL, DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE PORTLAND, OREGON
Portland Queer Comedy Festival is a collaboration between Andy Barrett, owner of Funhouse Lounge and Belinda Carroll; a long-time queer activist, comedian, and actress. Portland Queer Comedy Festival has pledged to not only give a portion of our proceeds to local area and national non-profits, (see our community partners section on our website for more information) but to hold fund drives within the festival to support our community partners. This inclusive festival will involve comics from all walks of the LGBTTIQQ2SA alphabet, and yes, we’ve included our funniest allies too. Portland Queer Comedy Festival; let’s keep Portland Queer.
AT THE PORTLAND QUEER COMEDY FESTIVAL WE TAKE SEXUAL HARRASMENT VERY SERIOUSLY.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT INCLUDES UNWELCOME SEXUAL ADVANCES, REQUESTS FOR SEXUAL FAVORS, AND OTHER VERBAL OR PHYSICAL CONDUCT OF A SEXUALLY HARASSING NATURE, WHEN:
(1) submission to the harassment is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of employment; (2) submission to or rejection of the harassment is used as the basis for decisions affecting the individual; or (3) the harassment has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.
Any comedian, volunteer or employee who has a complaint of sexual harassment at work by anyone, including supervisors, coworkers or visitors, should first clearly inform the harasser that his/her behavior is offensive or unwelcome and request that the behavior stop. If the behavior continues, the employee must immediately bring the matter to the attention of their site Producer.
If one of the Producers is involved in the harassing activity, the violation should be reported to that supervisors immediate supervisor, or one of the directors, Belinda Carroll who can be reached at BelindaDCarroll@gmail.com or Andy Barrett who can be reached at NightmareToys@yahoo.com
If a producer, comedian, or volunteer knows of an incident of sexual harassment, the Directors shall take appropriate remedial action immediately.
